Information used to deliver the website
When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical request information such as your IP address, browser details, requested URL and security signals to deliver content and protect the service. The site has no reader accounts, comments, checkout, newsletter signup or contact form. If you email us, we process your email address and message to respond to your request or handle a correction, privacy enquiry or advertising discussion. Messages are kept only as needed for that purpose and relevant legal obligations. Search runs in your browser; search text is not sent to a newsroom database.
Purposes and lawful basis
Technical delivery and proportionate security processing support the legitimate interests of operating a reliable, secure publication. Google Analytics measures readership only after your consent. It processes browsing events, device/browser details and approximate geographic information; Google may process this data outside Nigeria. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled in our tag. Advertising is currently disabled. We do not sell reader profiles or use this website to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies and choices
The cookie policy describes essential storage and optional analytics. You can review your choice from Cookie settings and clear cookies or local storage in your browser. Rejecting optional analytics does not prevent access to articles. Consent can be withdrawn as easily as it is given.
Service providers and international processing
Cloudflare supplies hosting and security through a global network. Technical data may be processed outside Nigeria. Service-provider privacy terms and applicable transfer safeguards govern that processing. We do not currently operate a separate reader database. External source links take you to independent websites whose privacy practices apply there.
Retention and security
A cookie preference saved on your device expires after six months. Hosting providers retain operational and security information under their applicable service policies; we do not claim that all technical logs are immediately deleted. HTTPS and access controls help protect the service, but no internet service can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights
Subject to the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable exceptions, rights may include information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent. You may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at https://ndpc.gov.ng. This does not limit other rights or remedies available to you.
Children and changes
This is a general-audience news website. It does not invite children to submit personal information or create profiles. We will update this notice before materially changing how reader data is used, including before enabling advertising.
